The Heart of Japanese Tea: Where SUZU-TEA’s Story Begins

The Heart of Japanese Tea: Where SUZU-TEA’s Story Begins

Where SUZU-TEA’s Story Begins

Founded in Tokyo in November 2024 by a woman from Hiroshima, SUZU-TEA was born from a simple wish — to share the beauty and depth of Japanese tea.

While the world’s love for matcha continues to grow, there’s so much more to discover in Japanese tea.
From fragrant sencha and gentle Japanese black tea, to delicate Japanese oolong, each has its own story and soul.

As a Japanese Tea Instructor and the founder of SUZU-TEA, I personally visit tea producers and tea merchants across Japan — selecting teas that truly move my heart, and sourcing directly from those whose craftsmanship and stories I deeply respect.

Our collection features rare cultivars and original blends created with young, passionate tea masters who share our vision of what Japanese tea can be.
Behind each tea lies sincerity, creativity, and love.

But behind this beauty lies a quiet concern: as Japan’s tea farmers age, many traditional tea fields are disappearing or being converted into large-scale plantations for matcha production.
Once a field is changed for matcha cultivation, it can never return to producing sencha or other teas.
That’s why we hope more people will experience the full world of Japanese tea — the incredible diversity and craftsmanship it holds.

To express that spirit, we also design every detail with care.
Our packaging and tea utensils — including handcrafted tea scoops — are made in collaboration with Japanese artisans, blending traditional techniques with modern sensibility.
We want each moment with our tea to feel special, beautiful, and full of heart.

Through this blog, we’ll share the people, landscapes, and moments that inspire us along the way.
Thank you for joining our journey.

Welcome to SUZU-TEA Stories.
