- About the Founder
Reiko Kii
Founder & CEO, SUZU-TEA LLC
Japanese Tea Instructor
Born in Hiroshima, Japan
After graduating from university, Reiko began her career at a major telecommunications company. Longing for a profession that allowed her to feel human warmth and genuine connection, she left the corporate world and began traveling across Japan.
On her journeys, she encountered traditional Japanese crafts — pottery, washi paper, textiles, and metalwork — and became fascinated by their history, inherited skills, and timeless beauty.
Her passion for craftsmanship led her to Japanese tea. Wanting to enjoy delicious tea in her favorite handmade cups, she discovered the incredible diversity of Japanese tea — how flavor changes completely depending on cultivar, climate, and processing. Inspired by the artistry and dedication of tea producers, she decided to establish a tea brand.
While gaining experience at a specialty tea shop, she earned her Japanese Tea Instructor certification in 2024 and founded JAPANESE TEA COMPANY SUZU-TEA.
Her dream — and the mission of SUZU-TEA — is to discover Japan’s most heartfelt teas and deliver them in beautiful forms, sharing love, craftsmanship, and happiness through every cup.
